After a prototype feeder we made for our Labrador Retriever, we learned that we needed to take some extra steps to make the top more durable for sloppy drinkers. We now use a 3 step finishing process for the top of the feeder- 1. 45 minute soak in mineral oil and drip dry. 2. Application of Odie’s Original Oil. 3. Final coating of Odie’s Wood Butter . The base of the feeder is finished with Odie’s Original Oil.
