Meet Our Franklin Woodworks Team

We are proud to be a family-focused and run business, and would like to introduce you to the team. We all take part in creating the woodworking pieces in our shop, so we’d like to introduce ourselves!

Jason

Getting into the garage and starting a woodshop was always a ‘retirement plan’. Something to build into, later in life. Coming from a family steeped in the construction industry, and being a general contractor for the last 20 years, working with wood is a bit of a passion. When Covid changed so much about all of our worklives and kept us all at home more than before, like many people I needed to find something to fill time that had been spent on commuting and being ‘out and about’. I turned to the workshop, and the tools came out for a little Wood Therapy. I loved it, and though, ‘why wait?’. So while my construction work still filled my days, Franklin Woodworks was born.

I’m the man behind the tools and one with the woodworking skills. The ‘maker’, as they say. The bearer of a coat of sawdust, and the speaker for the wood. I create.

Andrea

I offer design consultation and mediation skills when wood and man are having creative differences of opinion or when they are experiencing resistance with each other. You’ll often hear my voice in our videos, as our creative master prefers to silently create (and not to talk on camera).

The Apprentices, aka ‘The Kids’

We sometimes serve as apprentices, working to do sanding, finishing, and cleaning up around the shop. We’re hoping to get a promotion soon but apparently need more ‘focus’ before we get to use power tools.

Scout

Let’s face it - I am the heart of this operation. The team would fail without me. I provide the alerts when all packages are delivered - the man in the brown truck has the BEST treats! I also try to help with bark removal, but Mom and Dad say it’s bad for my digestion so they curtail my efforts. I am also the spokesmodel for all pet-related wood items. But don’t worry… I won’t let the fame get to me.

Our Workshop

We have created our well-equipped workshop right in our home so that we can work together as a family in the design and building process. We have invested in the right tools to allow us to meet just about any need, from carved-in designs and epoxy poured edges and details. With our recent acquisition of a CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) Router Machine, we can turn your computerized image into a carved design that’s unique and custom made for you.
